West Brom midfielder Jason Koumas is confident that the returning Chris Perry can solve the Baggies' defensive crisis. The former Wimbledon, Tottenham and Charlton defender made his first appearance for five months in Monday's 3-2 defeat at Burnley. He was recalled due to the unavailability of three central defenders, Curtis Davies (broken foot), Neil Clement (suspended) and Sam Sodje (foot). Paul McShane was also sent-off at Turf Moor, but could yet escape a ban if an appeal is successful. Koumas told the club's official website that the Baggies are fortunate to have 33-year-old Perry. The Wales international said: "I'm sure he'll be a big player for us in the next few games. He's a top, top defender - he has been for years. It was great to see him back. I'm sure he won't let anyone down."
