Kevin Keen believes Peter Odemwingie is working hard to force his way back into Steve Clarke’s first team plans.
Odemwingie has been sidelined after receiving a three match suspension following his dismissal for violent conduct at Fulham.
But the Nigerian striker has been in impressive form in training over the last three weeks as he tries to make up for his rash red card.
“Peter is desperate to get back into the team, perhaps to make up for his sending-off, and give the lads back a little bit that he maybe let down with at Fulham,” said Steve Clarke’s assistant.
“His training has been fantastic over the last fortnight and he will certainly be in Steve’s thoughts for Saturday.
“He’s a great player, whether starting or coming off the bench.
“He’s got some real quality and a goal in him every time he goes on the pitch.”
