Former England striker Kevin Phillips has continued his trophy winning form this time receiving the club's official Player-of-the-Year Award. The 34-year-old rolled back the years smashing home an impressive 24 goals in just 30 starts for the Baggies and finished just one goal behind the Championship's leading scorer, despite missing six weeks of the season through injury.

Philips, who pipped left-back Paul Robinson and midfielder Robert Koren to the prize, was voted Albion's Player-of-the-Year by both players and management for his performances both on and off the field this season.

Albion boss Tony Mowbray said: "It means a lot to any player when their team-mates appreciate and respect the contribution they've made.

"I would say it's not just Kevin's performances during games that have won him this award, but also his personality and manner around the training ground.

"Hopefully, he will also be high in the running for the Player-of-the-Year Award next season."

Phillips' latest award joins a number of accolades the eagled-eyed striker has received this term. The December Powerade Player-of-the-Month was eclipsed in March by the FourFourTwo Player-of-the-Year prize in the Championship. The former Sunderland man was also included in the PFA Championship Team of the Year and finished as the top striker in the 2007/2008 Actim Index - overall finishing a narrow second behind Stoke's Liam Lawrence.

Josh Ladabie celebrated achieving his first professional contract winning the club's Young-Player-of-the-Year.
