Tony Pulis was pleased to see Albion earn another point after the Baggies bore draw against Sunderland.
The Baggies started brightly but struggled to create any meaningful chances during a turgid game at The Stadium of Light.
Pulis , who laughed off Sunderland appeals after Joleon Lescott was deemed to have felled Danny Graham, claimed that despite the poor performance it's another point closer to safety.
"It was a difficult pitch to play on," he said.
"We got no momentum and we never got going today. Sunderland brought three or four strikers on and kept putting balls into the box but the way we defended was fantastic. The resilience they’ve shown augurs well because we’re desperate for points.
"Ben didn’t have a save to make. But don’t underestimate this point – it is a massive, massive point for us."
