Albion have again been gazumped by the Old Firm after Madjid Bougherra signed for Glasgow Rangers, despite agreeing personal terms at The Hawthorns. The 25-year-old last night signed a four-year deal at Ibrox after completing a £2.5 million pound transfer from Charlton Athletic.
Bougherra had been a main priority for Albion boss Tony Mowbray who earlier in the week looked likely of capturing the Algerian international centre-half after agreeing a fee with Charlton. However after agreeing a wage package and completing a medical, Bougherra then opted for Ibrox at the 11th hour - reminiscent of the Paddy McCourt saga when the midfielder choose Celtic over Albion.
