West Brom defender Paul Robinson believes the Baggies' sneak Wembley preview could give his side the edge in the Championship play-off final. The Black Country club made a secret visit to the national stadium on Wednesday to check out their dressing room and soak up the surroundings - an option Derby manager Billy Davies decided not to take up. Robinson will lead Albion out at Wembley after being appointed captain in the absence of Curtis Davies, who suffered a broken metatarsal in March, and it will be his second appearance at the famous venue after being part of the Watford side which beat Bolton 2-0 in the 1999 play-off final.
"I cannot wait to lead Albion out at Wembley," Robinson said. "Eight years on and I am proud to be captaining Albion and I just hope I can get us back to the Premier League. The build-up to the game has dragged on a bit but we have been preparing in the right way mentally and we are itching to get going now. It helped taking a look around the new stadium this week. It was especially important for the younger lads to go and have a look so their minds are clear and ready for the game now. The old stadium was a lovely and beautiful sight with the twin towers but the only thing left is Wembley Way. But the new stadium is fantastic and with a bigger capacity it will be a great atmosphere."
