However, Roberts returned to training this week and is back in the squad that travel to the Stadium of Light on Saturday.
"The first time we saw him since the accident was Tuesday morning," Megson told the clubs official website.
“He’s now trained for a couple of days and will be in the squad on Saturday.
“But we’ll have to take into account the frame of mind he’s in – as well as the footballing issues."
