"Once the board goes up and it shows three minutes left, time is against you. I was pleased with our performance and it would have been unfair if we had lost - there was no way we deserved to lose the game," Robson said after the 1-1 draw.
"There were some good and pleasing signs today and we showed what a good team we were at the end of last season. We need to get a run going but if Sunderland had won, it would have given them a bit of confidence.
"That's what it's like and you have to be able to play under pressure, but we are down there and there's a lot of pressure from the fans and the club.
"We have to be sure we put in some strong performances, but I was pleased with the attitude when the subs came on as that put Sunderland further on the back foot."
