Diafra Sakho is edging towards his record breaking transfer to Albion with the striker set to undergo a medical.
The West Ham forward agreed terms on a £16m move to The Hawthorns yesterday.
He has missed large chunks of the last two seasons with injuries ironically picked up playing against the Baggies in the last two seasons.
Albion are keen to ensure their record signing is fully fit before completing the deal and Sakho's scan results are expected back sometime this evening.
The transfer for Sakho could see the end of Saido Berahino's time at the club. Stoke and Crystal Palace both have bids believed to be around £20m for the former England Under-21 international.
Berahino himself liked a Twitter posts referencing the Potters' bid for the forward.
Reports claim Stoke may be prepared to offer a new cash-plus-player offer to tempt Albion into selling the striker. Mame Biram Diouf, Peter Crouch and Joselu have all been put forward by Mark Hughes as part of a deal.
