Returning midfielder, Filipe Teixeria, thanked the Albion faithful at Anfield yesterday for this welcome back to first-team football after seven-months on the sidelines with a serious knee injury.
The former Paris St. Germain man had not featured for the Baggies since March after picking up a anterior cruciate ligament injury but returned as a 56th minute substitute for Kim Do-Heon.
Despite being unable to stop the Baggies suffering a 3-0 defeat, Teixeria could not hide his excitement at returning back to first-team action after his injury nightmare.
"I'm very disappointed because we wanted to get a good result," the midfielder said.
"We knew it would be very difficult because Liverpool are a great team.
"After seven months out, I am happy to be back.
"But I would have liked it to be under different circumstances.
"It's very good to play in this league because this is the biggest league in the world."
Once again the Hawthorns hoards filled their away allocation and gave the biggest cheer of the afternoon when 'Tex' finally found his way onto the field for the returning Kim Do-Heon after his own recent injury problems.
"I really appreciate the welcome back the fans gave me," he added.
"I will work hard to try and do as well as I can for the supporters.
"Hopefully, we can achieve our objective, which is to keep this club in the Premier League."
After experiencing his first taste of the Premiership at Anfield, the 28-year-old has now set his sights on big-hitters, Chelsea, at The Hawthorns next Saturday (KO 17.30pm).
"My next aim is to work hard in training this week to try and earn a starting place against Chelsea," the midfielder continued.
"The knee and the calf are okay.
"There is no problem with them.
"Now I just need to play games because seven months is a long time without competition.
"I need to keep going and work hard to be better."
