Jerome Thomas is hoping Albion can follow in the footsteps of Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United following their impressive draw against the league leaders on Monday. The Baggies were arguably the best team during the televised clash taking the lead twice as they attempted to end Newcastle’s eleven game unbeaten record.
Second-place Nottingham Forest have a more impressive record stretching back to September since they last tasted defeat with Thomas insisting the Baggies must mirror their impressive opening to the campaign when they went eight games without losing.
“Any team that can go on a run can make an impact and I think we're a team who can do that,” Thomas insisted ahead of nine games before the end of February.
"We are seeing Forest on a run of 18 unbeaten games and you have to take your hat off to them.
"But this league is too unpredictable.
"I think it's time we put together a run and I am looking forward to the amount of games we face.
"I am excited about it - just bring them on!
"I have to monitor my fitness, especially as I didn't do a pre-season.
"So I might start to fatigue towards the end of this run of games.
"But I feel good at the moment and one of the best games I felt was Scunthorpe away - and that was a Monday after a Saturday game.
"I am fine with the games coming thick and fast and I am looking forward to more.
"With so many games coming up, we're looking to win all of them - but it's not realistic to think that.
"Also, sometimes it's better when you haven't got time to dwell on things or worry about all the things that have gone wrong.
"It's sometimes better if you can just turn it around and go and get a win.
"There are a lot of games coming up and I'm sure we'll be ready for them."
