Baggies trio Chris Wood, Marek Cech and Gonzalo Jara are set to travel to the World Cup finals after making their respective countries’ 23-man squads. The two defenders and forward made today’s final squad ahead of the South African tournament which begins on June 11th.
The versatile Jara’s Chile will play against Spain, Switzerland and Honduras; 19 year-old Wood, who only made his professional debut this season, will compete for New Zealand against world Champions Italy, Paraguay and Marek Cech’s Slovakia in Group F.
However central defender Abdoulaye Meite has been released from the Ivory Coast squad after former England manager Sven Goran Eriksson decided against including the former Bolton man.
Former Albion star Robert Koren has also been included as captain for Slovenia.
