A second half comeback from the Baggies brushed aside Reading as goals from Dwight Gayle, Harvey Barnes and Kyle Bartley helped Albion to a 4-1 victory.
Here's WBA-MAD's player ratings:
Sam Johnstone: Was busy early on and made some good saves to prevent Reading extending their lead. Not much to do after the break. 6/10.
Kyle Bartley: Much better from Bartley. Kept it simple in possession and linked up well with Gibbs. Involved in two goals after the break. 7/10.
Ahmed Hegazi: Another who is growing into his new role. Some sloppy passing aside, he was much assured. 7/10.
Craig Dawson: Needs a better understanding with Mears. Constantly played his teammate into possesion with poor placed passes. 5/10.
Tyrone Mears: Really struggled to make an impact in the game and was constantly in the wrong position. Didn't help that Dawson played him into trouble on numerous occasions. 5/10.
Kieran Gibbs: Good defensively and pushed forward when he got the opportunitiy. Had a good battle with Reading's Andy Yiadom. 6/10.
Gareth Barry: Broke up play regularly and kept Albion pushing forward. Decent display from Albion's captain. 6/10.
Jake Livermore: Struggled in the first half but after he'd swapped into short sleeves he had more impact. Brilliant through ball for Barnes' goal. 6/10.
Harvey Barnes: Great finish for his goal and helped drag Albion back into the game after the break when he switched to the right and had more influence. 7/10.
Dwight Gayle: Dragged Albion back into the game after the break and showed a real poacher's instict with both of his goals. Albion are lucky to have him. 8/10.
Jay Rodriguez: Worked his socks off up front and was unlucky not to find the net himself. Another who came to life in the second half. 7/10.
SUBS
Kyle Edwards: Encouraging league debut from the 20-year-old. Swung the game in Albion's favour and showed he can influence games at this level. Great challenge to break up a Reading attack as the Royals pushed forward late on. 7/10.
Chris Brunt: Replaced Livermore just after Albion's second. Controlled the game alongside Barry. Just what Albion needed at the time. 7/10.
Tosin Adarabioyo: Came on for the final few minutes and played one sublime long ball over to Gayle. Didn't do much else. 6/10.
