Albion's hopes of avoiding relegation took a major dent after conceding a last minute equaliser at Villa Park.
After an early penalty from Villa, Albion bounced back with a spot kick from Mathues Pereira and Mbaye Diange. But a defensive mix up from Kyle Bartley and Sam Johnstone let the hosts steal a late draw.
Here's how we rated the players:
Sam Johnstone - 9
Deserved to be on the winning side after a series of saves to keep Albion in it. Possibly at fault for the equaliser but did little else wrong.
Darnell Furlong - 6
Villa tried to expose his defensive frailties but he held strong whenever he was tested.
Kyle Bartley - 6
Solid until the last two minutes when he failed to clear the ball and gifted Villa an equaliser.
Semi Ajayi - 6
A very clumsy and naive challenge to give Villa an early penalty. Struggled after that but grew into the game.
Conor Townsend - 6
Was maybe a touch too deep on the cross that led to Villa's equaliser. Didn't do too much else wrong.
Okay Yokuslu - 7
Back to his best after a disappointing performance against Leicester. Will be disappointed with his headed chance that went a foot wide.
Conor Gallagher - 6
Plenty of energy again from the Chelsea loanee but struggled to get a foothold in midfield.
Ainsley Maitland-Niles - 7
Albion's best midfielder. Won the penalty and dominated the midfield. Flagged towards the end and was subbed.
Callum Robinson - 6
Showed a few nice touches but struggled to get into the game. Was no surprise to see him subbed again.
Matheus Pereira - 9 MOTM
Was involved in everything Albion did going forward. Scored the penalty and was unlucky not to get a second. A real eye-catching performance.
Mbaye Diange - 6
Struggled to keep hold of the ball in the first half but took his opportunity well to give Albion the lead.
SUBS
Matt Phillips - 6
Failed to make an impact in the last 30 minutes.
Dara O'Shea - 6
Introduced late on but failed to stop Villa equalising.
