Albion’s interest in Swansea full-back Neil Taylor looks set to have ended after the defender signed a new four-year contract.
The Baggies mulled over a bid for the Welsh international after the defender entered the last 18 months of his contract.
But Tony Pulis turned his attentions to Norwich left-back Martin Olsson, who declined a move to The Hawthorns after a potential swap deal with Graham Dorrans was agreed.
Taylor was expected again to be on Tony Pulis’ radar this summer to replace the out-going Sebastian Pocognoli but will now have to turn his attentions elsewhere.
Meanwhile, Pulis’ assistant Dave Kemp says Albion fans should be excited by the new arrivals which are expected to arrive this summer.
Kemp said the Baggies would be after players such as Callum McManaman to add some much needed width.
“We want some more players like that so that we have that threat. We haven’t had that kind of player and hopefully next season we will,” he said.
