Kenneth Zohore fired Albion into the FA Cup Fourth Round - and a reminder to Baggies boss Slaven Bilic.
Zohore finished off a flowing move in the 32nd minute to fire his third goal of the season.
The £8m summer signing has fallen down the pecking order at The Hawthorns with the arrival of Charlie Austin and due to the form of Hal Robson-Kanu.
The FA Cup tie was the first time since late August that the striker has started a game for the Baggies and he admitted it has been a frustrating period.
He said: "I have been waiting for a chance to play and to show what I can do. I think today I set a good example of myself.
“I could feel that I haven’t been playing for a while, I was blowing a couple of times but that is how it is when you are not playing that often.
“The boss said well done to us as a team after the game. It has been good today.
“I’m obviously delighted to score today and to help the team into the next round of the FA Cup.
“I hadn’t scored in a while before today so I was really pleased to get on the scoresheet.
“I have been speaking with the manager. He knows I’ve been frustrated but I’ve just had to wait for my chance.
“I think I took that chance today.”
