Albion breezed their way past Swansea City during a 5-1 demolition at The Hawthorns.
The Baggies dominated from the start and roared back to the top of the Championship with goals from Semi Ajayi, Matheus Pereira, Hal Robson-Kanu, Matty Phillips and Kyle Edwards.
The only blot on Albion's afternoon was Sam Surridge's bundled effort in the first half after the Baggies failed to deal with a dangerous corner.
Defeat for Swansea was their first on their travels this season and moved Albion two points clear of second place Leeds United.
After a bright start, Ajayi gave Albion the lead when he nodded home from close range. The second soon came when a fine flowing move down Albion's left saw Pereira curl home at the near post.
Hal Robson-Kanu continued his purple patch when he raced through to calmly score Albion's third before the break.
Albion's dominance continued in the second half when Matty Phillips headed in a fourth before Kyle Edwards capped a brilliant display by smashing home a fifth from close range.
