Albion extended their unbeaten run to five games with a comprehensive 3-0 win at Ashton Gate.
Despite Romaine Sawyers seeing red after the break, Albion were able to extend their lead over third placed Fulham to nine points.
Callum Robinson scored for the second consecuitve game after good work from Jake Livermore and Hal Robson-Kanu. Livermore and Robson-Kanu were involved in Albion's second as the captain's shot was parried into the path of his teammate who made no mistake from close range.
Then, minutes after Saywers had been given his marching orders, Robson-Kanu took advantage of a mistake in the Bristol defence to fire in a stylish volley.
"It was very satisfying," Bilic admitted aftwards.
"To win 3-0, be quite comfortable with that type of performance and limit them to one real chance, to do that at Bristol City requires a big-time performance. It was a complete performance.
"At 2-0 at half-time you are happy but there is a long time to go so we didn't want to lose the momentum to give them something back. We started the second half top. Everything was almost perfect apart from the red card.
"There was still enough time for them to make us suffer but the great thing was that we scored straight away, which killed the game."
