Albion opened their 2022/23 season with a spirited 1-1 draw at Middlesbrough.
The hosts came flying out the blocks and were ahead inside the first ten minutes when full back Isiah Jones was left unmarked at the back post.
Albion weathered the 'Boro storm as the hosts pushed for a second before half time with striker Duncan Watmore somehow missing the target from close range.
But the Baggies came back after the break and it was the two debutants who combined for Albion's equaliser.
Jed Wallace did well down the right to cut the ball back to the on-rushing Jon Swift who fired past Zach Steffan to record his first Baggies goal.
Albion were much improved in the second half and could've taken the lead late on when substitute Daryl Dike saw two efforts saved as the visitors pushed for a late winner.
